Are you a winner!? If so, you need to take calculated steps to ensure you win the day, every day! A lot of small parts lead up a massive whole. So let’s focus on the essential actions necessary to effectively boost your efficiency every day!
I’m Ben Albert of Balbert Marketing, and I’m here to provide 7 simple steps to guarantee you win the day!
1. Plan Your Day The Night Before: Seriously, don’t leave the next day to chance. At the end of each day, write out all the things you need to do the following day to achieve your goals. Write out your schedule to the best of your ability.
What I love to do is is make a list of NON-NEGOTIABLES for the next day. I put them on a big whiteboard, so it’s in front of me the moment I reach the office (the guest bedroom) in the morning.
2. Prioritize Your Non-Negotiables: Number each item and do the more challenging jobs first. There’s always the temptation to do the easy jobs first. However, think how the thought of doing the complex jobs hangs over you as you do the easy stuff. Think how good you’ll feel when the toughest tasks are out of the way. I like to do some of my most important tasks absolutely first thing in the morning.
3. Stick To Your List: Check off each item. Don’t get distracted. Don’t let emails and texts ruin your momentum. You don’t need to answer every email/text as they come in. Set a schedule to check your email/notifications at a specific time each day to avoid constantly checking. Or really, do whatever strategy works best for you! But make sure you stick to your list!
4. Remember the Three D’s: Do it, Delegate it or Dump it.
When a new task comes up, take action immediately. Either do something about it now, delegate it to someone else or throw it in the trash. Don’t waste unnecessary time, especially in the morning, thinking about tasks without taking action.
5. Don’t Procrastinate: I know I just addressed this in the three Ds. But I think it’s important to hammer this one down. Don’t procrastinate! Take your list of priorities and get them done! You can do it! And if/when you do check texts and emails, address them right away! No procrastination!
6. Schedule in breaks and fun tasks: Schedule out time in your day to take a walk, work out, relax and decompress, or anything that makes you happy. Make the workday less stressful and more fun. And plan that time out! Schedule it!
To win the day, you need to take time off for yourself.
7. Keep it Real: Seriously, sometimes we all need a reality check. Ask yourself, “am I slacking off.” “Am I living up to my potential?” “Am I holding myself accountable?” If the answer is no, remember, you’re only human. But let’s get better!
I appreciate you engaging with me today, I’m going to come at you with countless tips, and to make it more fun, most weeks will have an expert guest; if you’d like to learn more about Balbert Marketing and our services, I encourage you to go to balbertmarketing.com
